According to Cochrane CB (2008): However, extracts were highly cytotoxic to drug sensitive (CEM) & multidrug-resistant leukemia (CEM/VLB) cell lines. To validate the ethnopharmacological claims against cancer, the anticancer effects of alcoholic extracts prepared from pond apple leaves, pulp and seed, were investigated in human Leukemia cell lines. According to Dev A (2021): This review highlights anticancer effects of Annona species in cancer therapy, the efficacy of its bioactive components on diverse cancer types & their mechanism of action and also summarizes the use of these phytochemicals for the purpose of developing a promising anticancer drug candidate in future. - Pest control : Plant part used: Seed.
According to Prijono D (1993): Jussieu) seed extracts against Phaedonia inclusa Stal (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) was evaluated in laboratory. Control leaves were dipped in water containing Tween 20 (0.2%) & ethanol (5%). According to Basana IR (1994): The insecticidal activity of each extract was tested in a leaf-residue bioassay.
