- Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Bark. Documented pharmacological profile: Metformine-like.
According to BRACHMACHARI AK (2015): Diabetes was developed in rats by single intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin @ 60mg/Kg bw. The hypoglycemic effect of only BPBE at 420 mgkg-1 on 14th & 28th day is comparable to that of standard drug Glibenclamide (P>0.01). According to Meshram SS (2013): alloxan induced diabetes in mice by glucometer method, with 50 mg/kg ,100 mg/kg & 200 mg/kg & higher doses showed significant value represent at table no & Figure 1,2,3 respectively with different successive extract & show the Significant P Value. - Cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver disease : Plant part used: Bark. Documented pharmacological profile: Silymarine-like.
According to Gupta M (2004): Gupta M et al, Antioxidant & hepatoprotective effects of Bauhinia racemosa against paracetamol & carbon tetrachloride induced liver damage in rats. According to KASSEM FF (2013): Liver and kidney injury were induced in Wistar albino rats using paracetamol. Liver & kidney samples of rats treated with extracts showed marked improvement in the biochemical parameters were subjected to histopathological study. - Convulsion, epileptic fit, anxiety, nervousness : Plant part used: Bark. Documented pharmacological profile: Diazepam-like.
According to SHARMALA T (2017): The results are promising for further investigation for efficient anticonvulsant activity. Both extracts showed reduction in the duration of all the phases of epilepsy such as Flexion, extensor, convulsion, stupor phases.
