- High blood pressure, oedema : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Captopril-like.
According to Carrasco OF (2017): All extracts administrated by intravenous injection diminished the mean arterial pressure. The blood pressure (BP) & heart rate (HR) were evaluated before & after the extract administration. According to Guzman-Hernandez E (2023): Materials & methods: For induction of metabolic syndrome, 20% fructose was used, & it was administered in the water & food to male Wistar rats for 12 weeks, after administering ethanol extract of BS intragastrically (100 a&200 mg/kg/day) for 6 weeks, blood pressure was determined. - Hypercholesterolaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia, hyperlipidaemia : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Atorvastatine-like.
According to Carrasco OF (2017): The objective of this study was to further characterize the cardiovascular effects of the methanol extracts of such plants. Vascular reactivity experiments were conducted in rat aortic rings obtained from rats with & without sugar-induced hypertension, a model widely used to study such effects with cardiovascular agents. - Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica, oedema : Plant part used: Bark.
According to Zuniga B (2005): Some volatiles were assayed for anti-inflammatory activity using the TPA-induced ear edema bioassay in mice. Chemical composition & anti-inflammatory activity of the volatile fractions from the bark of eight Mexican Bursera species. According to Acevedo M (2015): Organic extracts from nine species (eleven populations) of the Bursera genus native to Mexico, were investigated for cytotoxic & anti-inflammatory activities.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
