According to Cojocariu R (2019): In the present study, we assessed the effects of CA polyphenolic extract in the psychological stress-induced rat model of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), a chronic functional digestive tract disorder marked by immune & inflammatory-related disturbances of central nervous & peripheral intestinal systems, which is often associated with mood disorders including depression & anxiety.
  2. Rosacea (Patent) : Plant part used: Whole plant. Mentioned synergistic association: Enoxolone.
  3. Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Whole plant.
According to Laken II (n.d.): These extracts were phytochemically screened for metabolites & evaluated antibacterial activity against some pathogenic organisms Klebsilla, pneumonia, Bacillus subtilis, & Pseudomonas aeruginosa using agar dilution method. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) & Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) of the active extract of CI shows that the extract could be a potential source of antibacterial agents. According to MEVY J (2012): The growth of Candida albicans & Saccharomyces cerevisiae was inhibited at 100 μgml-1 broth, suggesting that the oil is potentially antifungal.
