  1. Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Acarbose-like.
According to KARUNAKAR H (2015): KARUNAKAR H et al, evaluation of antidiabetic activity of hydroalcoholic extract of Chrysophyllum Caïmito fruit, Int J of Pharmaceut Sci & Res, 90 :24, 2015- ABSTRACT; Anti-diabetic activity of hydro-alcoholic extract of Chrysophyllum cainito fruits (CCE) was investigated against experimentally induced diabetics in rats using alloxan & streptozotocin (STZ). The present study concluded that CC fruits were found to be effective plant against alloxan & streptozotocin induced diabetes & also help in preservation of islet cells. According to Guzman Ceferino J (2023): The CC fruit was found to possess a free radical donor capacity & inhibitory activity of amylolytic enzyme, important in control of diabetes mellitus & its complications.
  2. Pain, hyperalgesia : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Diclofenac-like, Gabapentine-like. Mentioned synergistic association: ANNONA MURICATA-L, Citrus Limonum, association synergique avec POUTERIA CAMPECHIANA-(Kunth)-Baehni (Feuille).
According to Déciga-Campos M (2017): The purpose of this work was to assess the antinociceptive & Antihyperalgesic properties of an herbal preparation, composed of four vegetal species: Pouteria Campechiana, Chrysophyllum cainito, Citrus Limonum, & Annona muricata, that is commonly used in combination (PCCA) in traditional Mayan medicine for the treatment of diabetes & pain. A concentration-dependent antinociceptive effect of the PCCA extract (20–160 mg/paw) was also demonstrated in the rat capsaicin (0.2%) test. According to Meira NA (2014): Conclusions: Our data demonstrates, for the first time, that the crude extract, fractions & pure compounds obtained from the CC leaves possess important anti-hypersensitive properties against inflammatory pain in mice.
  3. Infected skin wound, mouth ulcer, tonsillitis, gingivitis, laryngitis, sore throat : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Bétadine-like.
According to Sunita S (2016): Methods: The ethanolic extract of CC leaves was standardized in terms of its gallic acid content (a phenolic compound with wound healing properties) using a validated HPTLC technique. Results: Topical application of the standardized ethanolic extract of CC leaves on excision wounds caused the significantly faster reduction in the wound area as compared to JT & BTD. According to Leandra da Rosa (n.d.): Leandra da Rosa et al, Chrysophyllum cainito (apple-star): a fruit with gastroprotective activity in experimental ulcer models, Inflammo Pharmacology,.

Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
