    According to Anandakumar P (2021): This review provides worthy information about the beneficial effects of D-limonene such as antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, gastroprotective, hepatoprotective, immune modulatory, anti-fibrotic, anti-genotoxic etc. According to Manthey JA (2001): Each of these groups of compounds exhibits a number of in vitro & in vivo anti-inflammatory & anticancer actions. The citrus flavonoids extend their influence in vivo through their induction of hepatic phase I & II enzymes, & through the biological actions of their metabolites.
  2. Liver disorders : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Silymarine-like.
    According to Mahmoud MF (2014): Limonin ameliorated the deleterious effects of I/R as indicated by improvement in liver function tests. Limonin has been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory & antioxidant properties in the settings of chemically induced hepatic injury. According to Boye A (2024): limon) in preventive & curative treatment of many cancers including liver cancer.
  3. Oxidative stress : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Acide ascorbique-like, Rutin-like.
    According to Wang Y (2022): Citrus flavonoids play an essential role in regulating oxidative stress & are an important source of daily intake of antioxidant supplements. The antioxidant ability is the link & bridge connecting a variety of biological activities. According to Martí N (2009): Their antioxidant activity & related benefits derive not only from VC but also from other phytochemicals, mainly flavonoids.
