- Pain : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Aspirine-like.
According to Bose A (2007): Oral administration of the ethanolic extract (200 a&400 mg/kg, p.o) & its fractions (200 mg/kg each) of the aerial parts of Cleome rutidosperma produced significant analgesic activity in acetic acid-induced writhing & tail immersion tests, anti-inflammatory effect against carrageenin induced inflammation & adjuvant induced polyarthritis & antipyretic activity against yeast-induced pyrexia. According to Mondal (2009): Mondal et al, Analgesic, anti-inflammatory & antipyretic studies of Cleome rutidosperma DC. - Fungal infection : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Clotrimazole-like.
According to Knunta A (2011): The extracts were vacuum dried & studied for in vitro antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger, Penicillium notatum, Candida albicans, Helminthosporium solani. Clotrimazole (25 µg/ml) was used as reference control for antifungal studies. According to Morah F (2018): The oil exhibited antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Candida albicans & Aspergillus niger. - Osteoarthritis, rheumatism, oedema : Plant part used: Aerial parts.
