- Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Amikacine-like.

According to Khan AV (2013): coli) & Staphylococcus aureus (S. - Spasm, muscle contraction, constipation, diarrhoea : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Vérapamil-like.
According to Janbaz (2015): The above-mentioned findings reflected, presence of cholinergic as well as Ca++ channel blocking activity in ethanolic extract of DA thus providing scientific basis for its folkloric use in constipation & diarrhea. - Helminthiasis : Plant part used: Pest control and veterinary products. Documented pharmacological profile: Albendazole-like.
According to Raveendran D (2024): The extracts were tested at various concentrations (10, 25, 50 mg/ml) & compared with a standard anthelmintic drug, Albendazole. The results demonstrated a dose- dependent activity of both extracts, with the alcoholic extract showing a stronger anthelmintic effect than the aqueous extract.
