- Infected wound, injury, incision : Plant part used: Seed. Documented pharmacological profile: Povidone iodine-like.
According to Krupavaram B (2020): Group I served as negative control, treated with simple ointment, group II treated with standard drug, Povidone iodine 10% w/w, group III treated with low dose (5%, w/w) extract & group IV were treated with high dose (10%, w/w) ofextract. The wound healing effect was observed on 5th, 10th & 15th day. According to Saini S (2021): Conclusions :The study concludes that the nootropic effect of ETOH extract may be attributable to its anti-oxidant, anti-cholinesterase & cholesterol as well as glucose lowering potential. - Cancer : Plant part used: Seed. Documented pharmacological profile: Méthotrexate-like.
According to Taha Yassin M (2022): Cytotoxicity assay was achieved to assess the antiproliferative efficiency of EC solvent extracts against MCF7 breast cancer cell line. According to Tomar P (2018): Kanchnar guggulu is a compound Ayurvedic formulation used in clinical practice for the treatment of benign & malignant tumors. Methotrexate was used as a standard anticancer agent. - Pain, hyperalgesia : Plant part used: Seed. Documented pharmacological profile: Morphine-like, Tramadol-like.
According to Krupavaram B (2020): This present study was aimed to evaluate the effect Elettaria cardamomum seeds on wound healing in Sprague Dawley rats using Excision Wound Model & analgesic activity in Albino mice using Tail Immersion Method. Group I served as normal control, treated with normal saline, group II as standard, & treated with Tramadol (20mg/kg), group III mice treated with ETOH extract (200mg/kg) as low dose & group IV were treated with extract of (400mg/kg) as high dose. According to Author (2017): Analgesic property was evaluated using tail warm water immersion method & writing test (standard – Morphine 5 mg/kg BW i.p.).
