- Gastric ulcer : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Ranitidine-like.
According to Eweka KI (2017): This paper presents the antiulcer activities of the ethanol extract of Emilia Coccinea leaves on indomethacin & ethanol – induced gastric ulcers were evaluated. The results obtained show that the ulceration in gastric linings of the stomach of rats pre-treated with EC leaves extract before induction with ethanol & indomethacin decreased significantly when compared to the control. According to Ogunma Benjamin G (2019): Bi-herbal extracts (25, 50 & 100 mg/kg) showed antiulcer activity against ethanol-induced gastric lesions dose dependently. - Type 1 diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Sheet. Mentioned synergistic association: ACANTHUS MONTANUS-(Nees)-T. Anderson, ASYSTASIA GANGETICA-(L)-Anderson, association synergique avec HIBISCUS ROSA-SINENSIS-L, var. rosa-sinensis (Feuille).
According to Ojiako OA (2015): The present study ascertained the capacities of crude aqueous & ethanolic leaf extracts of Acanthus Montanus, Asystasia gangetica, Emilia coccinea & Hibiscus rosa sinensis, as well as their Combinatorial formulations to ameliorate hyperglycemia in Type I diabetic rats. Methods: Hyperglycemia was induced by single intra-peritoneal injection of alloxan monohydrate in phosphate buffer saline (PBS) solution (pH = 7.4) dosage = 120 mg/kg; b/w.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
