  1. Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet.
According to Okon J (2013): The present study was carried out to investigate the phytochemical screening, analgesic & anti-inflammatory properties of ethanol leave extract of Eryngium foetidum. These results indicate that the extracts could possess analgesic & anti-inflammatory properties. According to Mekhora C (2012): foetidum has a high potential to be used as a food supplement to reduce risk of cancer associated with inflammation.
  2. Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Amikacine-like.
According to Dalukdeniya DAC (2017): The methanol and chloroform extracts showed high antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria (Streptococcus pneumoniae, Listeria monocyatogenes & Staphylococcus aureus). Water extracts showed highest activity against gram negative microorganism (Salmonella). According to TABARAK MALIK (2016): Objective: This study was conducted for comparative assessment of antioxidant, antibacterial & antidiabetic potential of A.
  3. Pain, hyperalgesia : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Aspirine-like.
According to Saenz MT (1997): Analgesic action was evaluated with chemical (writhing test) & thermal stimuli (hot plate test). A decoction from the leaves of Eryngium foetidum has been evaluated for antiinflammatory & analgesic properties. According to Okon J (2013): The present study was carried out to investigate the phytochemical screening, analgesic & anti-inflammatory properties of ethanol leave extract of Eryngium foetidum.
