  1. Oxidative stress : Plant part used: Flower. Documented pharmacological profile: Acide ascorbique-like.
According to Jimenez-Cabrera T (2020): The negative impact that oxidative stress has on health is currently known. This review analyzes the decisive role that the Erythrina genus could play in managing inflammatory pain mediated by its compounds & its uses as an antioxidant. According to Karunambigai M (2013): The present investigation confirmed the antioxidant effect of the ethanol extract of EEEV by protect the erythrocyte against CCl4 induced oxidative stress,.
  2. Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Flower. Documented pharmacological profile: Ampicilline-like.
According to Kumari P (2017): Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris by disc diffusion method. variegate showed higher activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa & Staphylococcus aureus followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris & Escherichia coli. According to Tanaka H (2020): To screen 16 isoflavonoids isolated from Erythrina variegata (Leguminosae) for their antibacterial activity against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
  3. Hypercholesterolaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia, atherosclerosis : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Atorvastatine-like.
According to Mangathayaru K (2011): Six animals were sacrificed & evaluated for the onset of early atherosclerotic changes in the coronary artery, aorta & major organs, Serum lipid levels of the experimental animals summarized in shows a statistically significant rise (P<0.001) in total cholesterol (TC; 229%), low density lipoprotein (LDL)C (890%) and the atherosclerosis index (AI) (254%) in group II animals compared to normal controls. Lipid profile results of the two treatment groups (III & IV) are in comparison with positive control. According to Nagar JC (2015): The present investigation established pharmacological evidence to support the folklore claim that it is hypoglycemic & hypolipidemic agent.

Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
