  1. Dermatomycosis : Plant part used: Flower.
    Selon Okoye EL (2014) : Ethanolic extract was the most effective antimicrobial agent when compared to the other three extracts. The extracts showed varying degrees of antimicrobial activity ranging from 7 mm to 44 mm against the isolates used. Selon Khandelwal S (2012) : The extracts were also assayed for antimicrobial activity against some fungal spp.
  2. Arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatism, oedema : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Indometacine-like.
    Selon Sosa S (2002) : Sosa S et al, Screening of the topical antiinflammatory activity of some Central American plants. Selon Vijay Raj B (s.d.) : Hamelia patens leaf extract showed higher reduction in paw edema and potent anti-inflammatory activity in comparison with indomethacin. The present study investigates the anti-inflammatory activity of Hamelia patens leaf extracts using carrageenan induced paw edema in albino rats.
  3. Inflammatory pain, cramp, painful periods : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Naproxène-like.

Selon Vijay Raj B (s.d.) : Hamelia patens leaf extract showed higher reduction in paw edema and potent anti-inflammatory activity in comparison with indomethacin.
