  1. Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet.
Selon Moongkarndi P (2004) : niruri] whole plant, Passiflora foetida aerial part, Ardisia elliptica fruit, Morinda citrifolia fruit, Aegle marmelos fruit, Heliotropium indicum whole plant, Stephania venosa [Stephania rotunda] bulb a& Thunbergia laurifolia leaf) were tested for antiproliferative activity against SKBR3 human breast adenocarcinoma cell line using MTT assay. However, all the plant extracts showed activity in potential range for further investigation on cancer cells,. Selon Sivajothi V (2015) : The study was performed using methanolic extracts against human cancer cell line (HeLa) using MTT assay to analyze the cell growth inhibition.
  2. Osteoarthritis, arthritis, rheumatism, oedema : Plant part used: Whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Indometacine-like.
Selon Betanabhatla KS (2007) : Anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated with carrageenan induced paw edema model in albino Wistar rats of both sexes, & compared to a positive control drug, Diclofenac sodium. Choloroform extract of Heliotropium indicum was investigated for anti-inflammatory & anti-nociceptive activities in experimental animal models. Selon Hamiduzzaman (2017) : Hamiduzzaman et al, Evaluation of Anti-Inflammatory Activity through Assaying the Stability of Erythrocytes’ Membrane by Different Organic Extracts of Heliotropium Indicum (Boraginaceae), J.
  3. Allergy, bronchospasm : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Prednisolone-like.
Selon Shenoy A (2011) : showed significant reduction in signs and severity of symptoms (P <0.05), onset (P <0.001) and mortality rate (P<0.05) following anaphylactic shock-induced bronchospasm.

Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
