  1. Atherosclerosis, hyperlipidaemia : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Atorvastatine-like.
Selon Park SH (2015) : (100 or 200 mg/kg) or atorvastatin (10 mg/kg), were evaluated for atherosclerotic lesions & inflammatory responses by performing Oil red O & iNOS staining, respectively. We investigated its use as a preventive agent against inflammatory & vascular diseases in a murine model of atherosclerosis using apolipoprotein E-knockout (ApoE−/−) mice fed on a high-fat diet (HFD). Selon Bhadra S (2011) : Therefore IV can be a good lead as anti-cholinesterase agent from natural resources.
  2. Cancer : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Actinomycine D-like, Dexamethasone-like, Etoposide-like.
Selon Lombardi WRM (2017) : Methods: The human liposarcoma cell line (SW872), the human synovial sarcoma cell line (SW982), the human bone osteosarcoma cell line (HS 39.T), the human connective tissue leiomyosarcoma cell line (HS 5.T), the human acute promyelocytic leukemia cell line (HL-60), the human melanoma cell line (M14WM), the human breast adenocarcinoma cell line (MCF-7), & the human colon carcinoma (HT29) cell lines were purchased from American Type Culture Collection (Rockville, MD). In the present study, we performed an in vitro screening of ethanol extracts from commercial plants in order to investigate potential antitumor activity against human tumor cell lines.. Selon Kausar R (2017) : WBC was also in normal range revealed that no disease regards to bone marrow & leukemias.
  3. Allergy, corticosteroid-dependent asthma : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Ciclosporine-like.
Selon Sung YY (2012) : (star anise) has been used in traditional medicine for treatment of skin inflammation, rheumatism, asthma, & bronchitis. IVE inhibited TNF-α/IFN-γ-induced NF-κB & signal transducer & activator of transcription (STAT)1 activation in a dose-dependent manner.

Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
