Note: scientific reference excerpts are kept in their original language (most often English), without translation, to respect the source text of publications.
- Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Flower. Documented pharmacological profile: Ciprofloxacine-like, Gentamycine-like.
Selon Skenderidis P (2019) : Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) & minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) methods, turbidity (cell density) measurement, & well diffusion assay were used to determine the antimicrobial activity against several species of foodborne bacteria (Gram–, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Campylobacter jejuni),(Gram-+Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium perfringens), yeasts (Yar&ia lipolytica, Metschinokowia fructicola, & Rhodotorula miucilaginosa) & fungi (oenicimmum expansum, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporum & Rhizoctonia solani). The present study aimed at assessing the antimicrobial properties of a water & ethanol ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of dry goji berries & of lyophilised powdered pomegranate peel in vitro. Selon Mocan A (2017) : Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, & Penicillium funiculosum were the most sensitive strains when exposed to extracts from cultivated plants. - Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Acarbose-like.
Selon Liu H (2022) : LB fruits is a beneficial food that can interfere with carbohydrate metabolism in vivo, a significant direction for the development of LB, & can be used as a potential target for treating diabetes. Lycium barbarum polysaccharides, polyphenols, carotenoids & amino acids are the major natural bioactive compounds in the fruits of LB They have many physiological activities & medicinal values & have shown significant anti-diabetic effects. Selon Masci A (2018) : Furthermore, an overview of in vitro, in vivo & clinical studies concerning the hypoglycaemic & hypolipidaemic effects of isolated LBP fractions, is reported. - Cancer : Plant part used: Fruit.
Selon Miranda RM (2024) : Several fractions extracted from goji berries demonstrate antitumor properties, particularly effective against breast cancer, without showing cytotoxic effects on normal human cells. Hence, the review explored the fundamental traits of bioactive elements in Lycium barbarum & their potential in cancer treatment &, specifically, breast cancer. Selon CUI B (2011) : Rats fed the HF diet alone showed increased hepatocellular enzyme activities in plasma, a significant decline in antioxidant enzyme activities, & elevated liver lipid peroxidation indices.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
