- Inflammation : Plant part used: Whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Aspirine-like.
(2017) : Therefore, the present study was undertaken to evaluate the antiinflammatory activity of the Ethanolic Extracts of leaves of MM (EEMM) on carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema, granuloma-pouch method & adjuvant-induced chronic arthritis on experimental animals. Acute inflammation was studied by carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema method; subacute inflammation was studied by Granuloma pouch method & chronic inflammation was studied by Freund's complete adjuvant-induced arthritis method. Selon Pérez-Amador M.C (2010) : Ethyl acetate extracts of this plant exhibited significant antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties. - Pain, hyperalgesia : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Morphine-like.
Selon Dey P (2011) : HAMS (at 250 & 500 mg/kg body weight, i.p.) was evaluated for central antinociceptive activity by tail flick method. The results of the present study revealed significant (P<0.001) & dose-dependent central antinociceptive, locomotor depressant, muscle relaxant, & sedative potentiating effects of HAMS, demonstrating its depressant action on the central nervous system (CNS). Selon Hasan SM (2009) : Therefore, the present study was designed to evaluate analgesic & antioxidant potential of the hydromethanol extract of the leaves of the plant. - Cancer : Plant part used: Whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Cisplatine-like, Vincristine-like.
Selon Khatun R (2021) : In SRB assay, A549 human lung carcinoma, SK-Mel-2 skin melanoma & B16F1 mouse melanoma cell lines were used. In brine shrimp assay, the LC50 for MC, MM, MS & vincristine were found to be 29.04, 15.84, 32.35, & 1.2 μg/ml, respectively. Selon Debaprotim D (2014) : Hematological profiles were found to be nearly normal level in extract treated mice compared with tumor bearing control mice.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
