  1. Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet. Mentioned synergistic association: Azadirachta Indica-feuille.
    Selon Kamyab AA (2013) : Recently its efficacy against inflammatory response, hepatic injury & gastric ulcer has been elucidated in animal studies. In gastric epithelial tissue different derivatives of OS had anti-ulcer & anti-secretory characteristics & could heal gastric ulceration. Selon Magesh V (2009) : Therefore, the antitumor mechanism of ethanol extracts of Ocimum sanctum (EEOS) was elucidated in A549 cells in vitro & the Lewis lung Carcinoma (LLC) animal model.
  2. Fungal infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Fluconazole-like.
    Selon SHARMA A (2024) : In the present study, antidiabetic medicinal plants were screened for antifungal activity against Absidia Blakesleeana, a fungus causing mucormycosis (the black fungus). Fluconazole antibiotic was used as positive control. Selon Neha N (2020) : The antimicrobial activities of the plant against a wide variety of gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria, fungal & viral pathogens indicate that different extracts of this plant possess versatile anti-infective properties.
  3. Depression : Plant part used: Whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Sertraline-like. Mentioned synergistic association: Nyctanthes arbortristis-feuille.

In the traditional systems of medicine, many plants and formulations have been used to treat depression for thousands of years. Selon Sumina S (2022) : Aim: To evaluate the antidepressant activity of ethanolic leaf extract of Ocimum sanctum after subacute administration.
