- Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Streptomycine-like.
Selon GOMATHI S (2021) : The antimicrobial susceptibility studies were conducted against gram (-) bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa & gram (+) bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. Medicinal plants are used to produce new antimicrobial drugs due to increased bacterial resistance of antibiotics. Selon Patil SV (2012) : Dose-dependent growth inhibition of bacterial pathogens Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermis, & Micrococcus luteus was observed for J. - Schistosomiasis : Plant part used: Pest control and veterinary products. Documented pharmacological profile: Praziquantel-like, Niclosamide-like.
Selon NKONDO TE (2022) : Niclosamide-olamine 5% (1 μg/mL) & Praziquantel (10 μg/mL) were used as pharmacological controls. Different concentrations of these extracts were tested against cercariae (31.25-1000 μg/mL) & adult worms (62.5-2000 μg/mL) of Schistosoma mansoni. - Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Glibenclamide-like.
Selon Mehnoor Farheen (2016) : This study assessed the hypoglycaemic & antihyperlipidemic activities of whole ethanolic leaf extract of Pedilanthus tithymaloides in alloxan-induced diabetic albino Wistar rats. Group III consists of alloxan induced diabetic rats that were given daily sterile solution, ethanolic leaf extract of Pedilanthus tithymaloides (500 mg/kg), Group IV consists of alloxan induced diabetic rats that were given daily sterile solution, ethanolic leaf extract of PT (1000 mg/kg), Group V consists of alloxan induced diabetic rats that were given daily sterile solution & Glibenclamide(5mg/kg) respectively for 21 days by an intragastric tube with free access of food and water. Selon Nagda KK (1998) : Further significant reduction in the titre in insulin dependent diabetes mellitus group was shown to occur along with the increased duration of the diabetic condition, reflecting measurable erythrocyte surface alterations.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
