- Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Paclitaxel-like.
Selon Majumder M (2019) : RCFE (0.5 mg/Kg body weight) treatment led to significant reduction in tumor volume in 4T1 syngeneic mouse model. Here, we report the anti-cancer efficacy of Ricinus communis fruit extract (RCFE) using estrogen positive MCF-7 & highly aggressive, triple negative MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Selon Soto KM (2069) : communis) leaves (AuNPsCE) ethanolic extracts in human HT29 & SW480 colorectal cancer cells. - Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Glibenclamide-like.
Selon Gad-Elkareem M (2019) : This study aimed to investigate the antidiabetic effect of ethanolic & aqueous-ethanolic extracts of wild Ricinus communis leaves in streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. A significant increase in the AST, ALT & ALP levels (P < 0.05) was observed in the diabetic control & in the experimental groups with Glibenclamide which was also significantly (P < 0.05) lowered after treatment with extracts at special doses. Selon Shokeen P (2008) : We investigated the antidiabetic activity of 50% ethanolic extract of roots of Ricinus communis (RCRE) along with its Bioassay-guided purification. - Rheumatoid arthritis : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Méthotrexate-like.
Selon Hussain A (2021) : This study aimed to evaluate the anti-arthritic activity of Ricinus communis leaves' & Withania somnifera roots' hydroalcoholic extracts in Complete Freund's adjuvant-induced arthritis in Wistar rats. Changes in paw swelling, arthritic score, body weight, organ indices (thymus & spleen), hematological & biochemical parameters, & pro-/anti-inflammatory cytokine expression using qRT-PCR were assessed. Selon Nemudzivhadi V (2014) : Cytotoxic effect & anti-inflammatory activity of RC leaves extracts were evaluated on Human Caucasian skin fibroblast & Raw 264.7 macrophage cell lines, respectively.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
