Selon Swamy KB (2013) : This effect was shown to be related to a glycoprotein called "miraculin." Other beneficial characteristics of this fruit were its antioxidant & anticancer abilities that are due to the various amides existing in the miracle fruit. Selon LU S (2014) : In addition, the antitumoral activity using MTT assay of the leaf essential oil exhibited this oil was effective against human K562 cancer cell line in a dose dependent manner. - Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Fruit. Selon Dioso MK (2016) : The Hypoglycemic effects of its fruit & leaf extracts on the blood glucose level of alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats were determined & compared with the positive control using Metformin. Twenty-five albino rats were induced with type 2 diabetes mellitus using alloxan and were grouped and treated into five treatments (positive control using metformin, 50% fruit extract, 50% leaf extract, 100% fruit extract, 100% leaf extract).Blood glucose level were analyzed and compared.
