- Viremia : Plant part used: Trunk. Documented pharmacological profile: Ribavirine-like.
Selon Cardoso-Reis AC (2020) : The antiviral activity was assayed in vitro against the Zika virus by the MTT colorimetric method (n = 3). In the present study, ethanolic extracts from trunks & leaves of Tecoma species were tested in vitro using assays against the Zika virus. Selon Al-Azzawi A (2022) : This rapid and efficient method using flash chromatography was used for the isolation & purification of an isolated component A-3 that showed both antioxidant & antifungal activities. - Fungal infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Itraconazole-like, Miconazole-like, Nystatine-like.
Selon Al-Azzawi A (2022) : Component A-3 showed antioxidant activity using the DPPH & ABTS methods; antifungal activities when tested against Candida albicans; & more than 80% inhibitions in the third dilution when compared to itraconazole & nystatin as positive controls. This rapid and efficient method using flash chromatography was used for the isolation & purification of an isolated component A-3 that showed both antioxidant & antifungal activities. Selon Patriota LLS (2014) : Antifungal activity was evaluated by determining the minimal inhibitory (MIC) & fungicide (MFC) concentrations using fungal cultures containing only yeast form or both yeast & hyphal forms. - Cancer : Plant part used: Trunk.
Selon Thirumal M (2013) : The current study, evaluate Invitro Antiproliferative activity of ethanolic crude extract of root (ERETS), stem bark(ESETS) & flowers(EFETS) of Tecoma stans against Human Breast Cancer Cell lines (MCF-7) at different concentrations using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium Bromide (MTT) assay. Root, stem bark & flowers extracts showed significant antiproliferative activity in dose dependable manner on the cell lines (MCF-7) but maximum activity was found to be with ethanolic extract of stem bark of T stans (ESETS). Selon Anburaj G (2016) : The human breast cancer cell line (Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 (MCF 7)) was obtained from National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune & grown in Eagles Minimum Essential Medium (EMEM) containing 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS).
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
