  1. Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: streptomycine-like.
Selon Manjukeswari S (2013) : The present study aimed at evaluating the antibacterial activity of ethanolic extracts of leaves of Piper nigrum, Piper longum & Adhatoda vasica against Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae. The results revealed that the ethanolic extract of leaf presented the highest zone of inhibition in B subtilis, S mutans. Selon Ertuk O (2011) : Eleven ethanolic extracts from spices of Melissa officinalis(FR:FE), Mentha piperita((Se), Laurus nobilis(Fe), Rhus coriaria, Dianthus coryophyllum, Piper nigrum(Se), Capsicum annum (Fr), Juniperus oxycedrus, Erica arborea, Colutea arborescens, & Cuminum cyminum(Fr) collected from various regions of Turkey & local markets were assayed for the in vitro antibacterial activity against 3 Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus & S.
  2. Adjuvant treatment for Alzheimer’s disease : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Donepezil-like. Mentioned synergistic association: Myristica fragans, Syzygium aromaticum.
Selon Cheng C (2020) : On the basis of the activities of its individual components, KBD could have good potential for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Selon Pratibha N (2004) : Aller-7 also exhibited a dose-dependent (150-350 mg/kg) anti-inflammatory effect against Freund's adjuvant-induced arthritis in Wistar Albino rats & an approximately 63% inhibitory effect was observed at a dose of 350 mg/kg. The efficacy of Aller-7 was investigated in compound 48/80-induced paw edema both in Balb/c mice & Swiss Albino mice, carrageenan-induced paw edema in Wistar Albino rats & Freund's adjuvant-induced arthritis in Wistar Albino rats.
  3. Cancer : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Méthotrexate-like.
Selon Turrini E (2020) : The main limits of current anticancer therapy are relapses, chemoresistance, & toxic effects resulting from its poor selectivity towards cancer cells that severely impair a patient's quality of life. The present review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the anticancer potential of PN & its major active constituents-not limited to the well-known piperine-whose undeniable anticancer properties have been reported for different cancer cell lines & animal models. Selon Pratibha N (2004) : These results demonstrate that this novel polyherbal formulation is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that can ameliorate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
