  1. Type 1 diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: bark.
    According to Konwar M (2014): Results: Streptozocin induced diabetic mice showed significant hyperglycaemia and loss of body weight with alteration of serum insulin, tissue glycogen & antioxidant levels. in streptozotocin induced type1 diabetic animal model & also to explore the probable mechanism of their activities. According to Bino-Kingsley R (2013): Anti-diabetes activity of the fraction was evaluated in alloxan-induced diabetic rats & short term toxicity evaluation was done in adult male mice.
  2. Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Glibenclamide-like.
