  1. Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Erythromycine-like.
According to Tilak AH (2015): Butanol, ethanol & methanol leaf extract of A indica & A lebbeck were tested for antibacterial activity by disc diffusion technique & broth dilution method (MIC & MBC) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a gram negative, aerobic Rod found commonly in soil & water. All the extracts exhibited antibacterial activity against the tested bacterial strain. According to MOHAN CS (2012): The ethanol extract of leaves was found to be exhibit activity against Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa & Staphylococcus aureus.
  2. Cancer : Plant part used: whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Cisplatine-like.
According to Leong KX (2022): Both F1 & quercetin inhibited the proliferation of MDA-MB-231 cells in different ways, but F1 is likely a better potential anticancer agent derived from the green approach towards breast cancer treatment.,:. According to Sanseera D (2012): The methanol extract showed anticancer activity against NCI- H187-Small Cell Lung Cancer with an IC50 of 25.00 μgmL-1. (Aerial parts) were investigated for antioxidant activity, anticancer activity, & cytotoxicity.
  3. Helminthiasis : Plant part used: root. Documented pharmacological profile: Albendazole-like.
According to RANJU Garai (2011): Ethanol extract from the Acalypha indica leaves of investigated for their anthelmintic activity against Pheretima posthuma. According to -CHENGAIAH B (2009): The aim of present study was to evaluate anthelmintic potential of crude alcoholic extract of root of A indica using Pheretima posthuma as test worm. Albendazole (10 mg/ml) was included as standard reference & distilled water as control.
