According to EDEWOR IT (2007): -The effects of administering the ethanolic leaf extract of Acanthospermum hispidum dc on patients of hepatitis were studied on acute hepatitis induced by carbon tetrachloride (20% CCl4/olive oïl, 1.5 ml/kg, p.o) in rats. But in cases of no hepatitis, the observed effect of the leaf extract was normal like that of the control. - Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Mentioned synergistic association: association synergique avec Amoxicilline et Ciprofloxacine.
According to ADUE F (2011): The extract demonstrated antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacillus subtilis, Salmonella typhi, Proteus vulgaris & Pseudomonas aeruginosa with MICs ranging between 11 and 53 mg/ml. Aureus (9-fold) & B.
