  1. Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Doxorubicine-like.
    According to Khade KV (2015): The ethanolic extract of A.A leaves has a cytotoxic & antitumor activity. The present study was designed to determine the anticancer activity of the ethanolic extract of leaves of Agave americana L. According to Shireen F (2022): spicata-based AgNPs displayed moderate activity against PC-3 (prostate cancer cell line).
  2. Cabbage aphid (Brassica oleracea) : Plant part used: Other. Documented pharmacological profile: Deltamethrine-like.
    According to Guleria S (2009): Leaf extract of Agave americana was evaluated for antifungal activity against Alternaria brassicae, the causal agent of Alternaria blight of Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern. brassicae & thereby inhibited lesion development of Alternaria blight of Indian mustard at a concentration of 40 µg/ml or higher. According to Pereira AJ (2018): Here, we evaluated the potential of Agave americana (agave) extracts for the control of the aphid Brevicone brassicae in cabbage (Brassica oleracea L.
  3. Osteoarthritis, arthritis, rheumatism, oedema : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Aspirine-like, Indometacine-like.
    According to Misra AK (2018): The anti-inflammatory effects were measured at regular intervals of time to see the percentage inhibition of paw edema & reduction of weight of granuloma with percentage protection to compare the effect of the extract with the control& standard. It has long been used for anti-inflammatory effects. According to Riaz S (2023): Edema & inflammatory cells diminished, & the epidermis became reddish.
