- Psychiatric disorders, schizophrenia : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Halopéridol-like. Mentioned synergistic association: association synergique avec BACOPA MONNIERI-(L)-Pennel (Plante entiere).
According to JASH R (2014): Treatment of Psychiatric diseases like schizophrenia is largely palliative & more Importantly, a prominent adverse effect prevails with the majority of antipsychotic drugs, which are the extrapyramidal motor disorders. The results largely pointed out the fact that both the extract may be having the property to alleviate the positive symptoms of schizophrenia by reducing the dopamine levels of dopaminergic neurons of the brain. - Helminthiasis : Plant part used: LEAVES AND STEM BARK. Documented pharmacological profile: Albendazole-like.
According to Singh S (2013): stem bark & roots were investigated for the anthelmintic activity against Pheretima posthuma. Albendazole (20 mg/ml) was used as reference standard while normal saline served as a control. - Female contraception : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: 17α-Ethynil estradiol-like.
According to Chaudhary M (2017): For estrogenic/antiestrogenic activity, ovariectomized female rats were administered with the HAAS alone as well as with 17α-Ethynil estradiol (EE) (1 μ/rat/day) for 7 consecutive days. (HAAS) in female rats.
