It exhibited anti-proliferative activity on nasopharyngeal carcinoma HONE1 cells with an IC50 of 12.8 μM after treatment for 48 h. According to Author (2017): wt were given orally along with cyclophosphamide (chemotherapeutic drug) for 40 days for exploring antitumor activity against melanoma tumor (B16F10) in C57BL mice. - Thyroid dysfunction : Plant part used: Bark. Documented pharmacological profile: Levothyrox-like.
According to DIWANE CM (2026): Hormonal imbalance, oxidative stress, & pharmacological disruptions can be caused by thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism, which also modify metabolic processes. Aim :To investigate the antioxidative & histology beneficial properties of Bauhinia variegata ethanolic bark extract, & to examine its modulatory effect on PTU- induced hypothyroidism in Wistar rats that are albino. According to Singh P (2021): In Ayurveda Galganda & Gandmala are co-related with the disorder caused by Thyroid gland dysfunction. - Hypercholesterolaemia, hyperlipidaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia : Plant part used: Root. Documented pharmacological profile: Fenofibrate-like.
According to Kumar D (2011): The present study focusses on the anti-hyperlipidemic activity of fractions of total methanol extract of leaves of Bauhinia variegata against Triton WR-1339 induced hyperlipidemia in rats.
