According to Kumar E (2008): In this study, the anti-arthritic effect of oral administration of ethanolic extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum leaves (CEE) at the dose of 125 mg/kg and 250 mg/kg on Freund’s complete adjuvant (FCA) induced arthritis has been studied in rats. The results suggest that the ethanolic extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum leaves exhibits significant anti-arthritic effect. - Anxiety, nervousness : Plant part used: Root. Documented pharmacological profile: Diazepam-like.
According to Malaviya S (2009): These results suggest that alcoholic & aqueous extracts of CH possess anti-anxiety activity. Anti-anxiety activity was evaluated using elevated plus maze (EPM), light dark model (LDM) & open field test (OFT). According to Rajesh KG (2011): The purpose of this study was to characterize the putative phytoconstituents present in the ethanolic root extract having anxiolytic activity using an elevated plus-maze (EPM) & light dark transition model. - Convulsion, epileptic fit : Plant part used: Root. Documented pharmacological profile: Phénytoïne-like.
According to Dhayabaran D (2012): The aim of the present study was to evaluate the anticonvulsant effects of alcoholic root extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum L., Sapindaceae (ARECH), on the various murine models of epilepsy. These results suggested that ARECH possesses à significant anticonvulsant activity with à low motor toxicity profile.
