  1. Hypercholesterolaemia, hyperlipidaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia : Plant part used: Seed. Documented pharmacological profile: Guggulipid-like (oléorésine de Commiphora mukul).
    According to Patil UK (2004): Patil UK et al, Hypolipidemic activity of seeds of Cassia tora Linn. According to Chan SH (1976): The role of the medullary reticular formation in the Cassia tora-induced hypotension was suggested to be one which modulates the basic cardiovascular reflexes, favoring a decrease in vasomotor tone.
  2. Infection : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Ciprofloxacine-like.
    According to Patil S (2018): Each of the extracts was screened for antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, & Escherichia coli. The MIC of ethanolic extract of leaves was found to be 100 mg/ml, 75 mg/ml & 50 mg/ml against Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, & Escherichia coli respectively. According to Hatano T (1999): Hatano T et al, Phenolic constituents of Cassia seeds & antibacterial effect of some naphthalene’s & anthraquinones on Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
  3. Anxiety, nervousness : Plant part used: Seed. Documented pharmacological profile: Diazépam-like.
    According to Joshi B (2020): Conclusion: Results indicated that CT extract has antidepressant, anxiolytic & anticonvulsant effect in adult Swiss mice,. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the anxiolytic & antidepressant effect of hydro-alcohol extract of CT in Swiss mice.
