  1. Bacterial and fungal infections : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Ampicilline-like, Gentamycine-like.
According to Andogan BC (2002): Escherichia coli (ATTC 25922), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923) & Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATTC 27853 were used as standard test bacterial strains. J exalsa, & C indicum exhibited antibacterial activities against both S aureus & E coli. According to Ratte TA (2023): The most substantial inhibitory diameter against Staphylococcus aureus was recorded as 19.1±0.8 mm for the JEC3 endophytic fungi, while Escherichia coli exhibited an inhibitory diameter of 16±1.1 mm for the JEC2 endophytic fungi.
  2. Cancer : Plant part used: Fruit.
According to Author (2009): To investigate the effects of Chrysanthemum indicum extract (CIE) on inhibition of proliferation & on apoptosis, & the underlying mechanisms, in a human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) MHCC97H cell line. According to Wang, ZD (2010): Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an aggressive cancer with a dismal outcome largely due to metastasis & postsurgical recurrence. It is suggested that CI is a potential novel therapeutic medicinal plant for treatment of HCC or cancer invasion & metastasis.
  3. Anxiety, nervousness : Plant part used: Flower. Documented pharmacological profile: Diazépam-like.
According to Sheela S (2017): The elevated plus-maze (EPM) and open field test has been most familiar tool in the investigation of the neurochemical transmission basis of anxiety, for testing anxiolytic drugs. The anxiolytic activities of Ethanolic & Chloroform extracts of CL flowers were evaluated using the elevated plus-maze (EPM) & Open field. According to Hong S (2012): Hong S et al, Anxiolytic-Like Effects of Chrysanthemum indicum Aqueous Extract in Mice: Possible Involvement of GABAA Receptors & 5-HT1A Receptors, Biomol Ther (Seoul) 2012; 20(4): 413-417-.

Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
