  1. Rheumatism, osteoarthritis, arthritis, oedema : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Indometacine-like, Ketorolac-like.
According to Gopalakrishnan (2010): Anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanolic extract of the Cissampelos pareira Linn leaves was studied in albino Wistar rats using the carrageenan induced rat paw edema model. The result indicated that the extract produced significant (P<0.05) anti-inflammatory activity when compared with the standard drug indomethacin (10 mg/kg p. According to Hem-Raj (2013): The anti-inflammatory & analgesic effect of ethanolic extract of the CPE & SGE were screened for carrageenan induced hind paw edema & by using hot plate method for antiinflammation & analgesic action.
  2. Snake bite : Plant part used: Aerial parts.
According to Riiciardi-Verrastro B (2018): Aim of the study: In this study, the in vitro and in vivo Antivenom activities of C. The seasonal influence on the chemical composition of the active extracts was also studied, in order determine the associated range of variability and its influence on the Antivenom activity.
  3. Hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis : Plant part used: Root. Documented pharmacological profile: Silymarine-like.
According to Asif M (2021): pareira hydroalcoholic extract (CPHE) was checked for hepatoprotective activity against CCl4-induced acute & chronic hepatotoxicity. Hence, the present study has been carried out to evaluate the hepatoprotective effect of hydroalcoholic extract of C. According to Surendiran S (2011): Surendiran S et al, In vitro & In vivo hepatoprotective activity of Cissampelos pareira against carbon tetrachloride induced hepatic damage 2011: 49(12): 939-45.
