According to Lin HC (2016): rubrum, & Epidermophyton floccosum. Dermatophytosis, which is caused mainly by genera of Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, & Microsporum, is a frequent dermatological problem in tropical and subtropical countries. According to Shahid M (n.d.): Antifungal & antibacterial activities were determined after each purification step. - Convulsion, epileptic fit : Plant part used: Seed. Documented pharmacological profile: Valproate de sodium-like.
According to Raghunandan Mudium (2014): However, anticonvulsant effect was less compared to sodium valproate. The hydroalcoholic seed extract of CT (250 & 500mg/kg) was studied for its anticonvulsant effect using sodium valproate (200mg/kg) as standard & distilled water as control. - Constipation : Plant part used: Fruit. Documented pharmacological profile: Bisacodyl-like.
According to Akbar S (2020): Ethanol seed extract at a dose of 0.06 mL/30 g was effective as laxative in 100% mice, with an ED50 of 0.027 mL; the laxative effect was partially blocked by atropine. In Ayurveda, seeds & seed oil are used in the treatment of constipation, fever, intestinal worms, anasarca, ascites, enlargement of abdominal viscera, tympanites, calculous affections, colic, & gout. According to Hu Jing (2012): Croton oil is the fruit oil of Croton tiglium L., which is well known in folk medicine for the treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases, including constipation, abdominal pain, peptic ulcer, and intestinal inflammation for a long period.
