- Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Etoposide-like.
Selon Hossan S (2014) : This review shall focus on the reported anticancer activities of rosmarinic acid & discuss its therapeutic potential against a variety of cancers including colon & skin cancer. antiviral, antibacterial, antiinflammatory, anticancer and antioxidant. Selon Pauzi N (2018) : The effects of water & 50% ethanolic-water extracts of Orthosiphon stamineus Benth (OS) on cell proliferation & apoptotic activity against uterine leiomyosarcoma (SK-UT-1) cells were investigated. - Type II diabetes mellitus : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Acarbose-like.
Selon Mohamed EA (2015) : stamineus can be considered as a potential agent for the management of diabetes mellitus. In streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, only the group treated with 1000 mg/kg of the extract showed significantly (P < 0.05) lower plasma glucose levels after starch loading. Selon Sriplang K (2007) : Sriplang K et al, Effects of Orthosiphon stamineus aqueous extract on plasma glucose concentration & lipid profile in normal & streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, J of Ethnopharm, 109(3) :510–4, 2007. - High blood pressure, oedema, fluid retention : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Captopril-like.
Selon Ohashi K (2000) : Among those thirteen substances, it was found that a major constituent in the water decoction of leaves, methyl-ripario-chromene A (5), exhibited a continuous decrease in systolic blood pressure after subcutaneous administration in conscious stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats. The water decoction of leaves of kumis Kucing, Orthosiphon aristatus which has been prescribed in Javanese traditional medicine (jamu) for the treatment of hypertension etc., was partitioned into a mixture of chloroform and water. Selon Shafaei A (2013) : The systolic blood pressure was measured before and after 14-days treatment by the tail cuff method.
