  1. Cancer : Plant part used: Whole body. Documented pharmacological profile: Cyclophosphamide-like.
Selon Zhao Y (2017) : The main mechanisms of its anti-tumor effects include suppression of tumor cell growth, induction of cell cycle arrest & tumor cell apoptosis, inhibition of angiogenesis, enhancement of immunity, & reversal of tumor drug resistance. In this review, the research progress on the anti-tumor effects of Pa was summarized. Selon NI L (2020) : to investigate the effects of Periplaneta americanaextract on the proliferation & apoptosis of human non-small cell lung cancer A 549 cells as well as its possible mechanism.
  2. Infected wound, injury, incision : Plant part used: Whole body. Documented pharmacological profile: Povidone iodine-like.
Selon Chen KH (2009) : Materials & methods: Wistar rats receiving total body irradiation of 60-Co γ-rays alone or with combined radiation & skin wound injury were used in this study. Conclusions: W11-a12 showed a protective effect on hematopoiesis after total body irradiation & could increase the inflammatory cells in wounded tissues at the initiation stage after irradiation, which will benefit the management of combined radiation & skin wound injury. Selon Song Q (2017) : Periplaneta americana extracts (PAEs) exhibit wound healing properties.
  3. Ulcerative colitis : Plant part used: Whole body. Documented pharmacological profile: Sulfasalazine-like.
Selon Lu K (2021) : Acute colitis mice model was established, the acute toxicity & anti-inflammatory activity were tested in vivo. OPA exhibited anti-inflammatory activity by regulating Th1/Th2, reducing oxidative stress, preserving intestinal barrier integrity, & inhibiting TLR4/MAPK/NF-κB pathway. Selon Ni L (2022) : Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) with a low cure rate.

Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
