  1. Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet. Mentioned synergistic association: la Vincristine.
Selon Visweswaram D (1994) : Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) a pharmacological tool to produce liver damage reduced the urinary excretion of ascorbic acid in rats. Silymarin & extract of P amarus (shown to be hepatoprotective substances) prevented the CCl4 induced reduction of ascorbic acid excretion in urine. Selon BOSE A (2022) : PA extracts have shown a broad range of pharmacological activities like hepatoprotective, antioxidant, antiviral, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antimalarial, nephroprotective, diuretic, & several other properties.
  2. Malaria : Plant part used: Pest control and veterinary products. Documented pharmacological profile: Amodiaquine-like, Pyrimethamine-like.
Selon Ajala TO (2011) : The antiplasmodial effects of the extracts were comparable to the standard prophylactic & chemotherapeutic drugs used in chloroquine resistant Plasmodium infection although the activity depended on the dose of the extract administered. yoelii) (a resistant malaria parasite strain used in animal studies) infection in mice. Selon Adjobimey T (2004) : Most of these extracts show significant activity against the chloroquine-sensitive strain of Plasmodium falciparum 3D7.
  3. Inflammatory conditions : Plant part used: Whole plant. Documented pharmacological profile: Dexamethasone-like.
Selon Kiran M (2013) : Kiran M et al, Evaluation of anti-inflammatory activity of different extracts & isolated lignans of Phyllanthus amarus Schum.
