- Mosquito control : Plant part used: Pest control and veterinary products. Documented pharmacological profile: Perméthrine-like. Mentioned synergistic association: Kalantchoe pinnata-parties aeriennes.
Selon FRANCIS S (2025) : Methods: Extracts prepared from medicinal plants found in Jamaica were screened against recombinant Anopheles gambiae CYP6M2 and CYP6P3, and Anopheles funestus CYP6P9a, CYPs associated with anopheline resistance to pyrethroids and several other insecticide classes. This increases the availability of the insecticide at its specific target site. - Anxiety, depression, nervousness : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Diazépam-like.
Selon Monteiro LM (2023) : is used in Brazilian traditional medicine to treat inflammation, chest pain, & anxiety. Selon Giovannini P (2017) : Available pharmacological data suggest different plant species may target different symptoms of snakebites, such as pain or anxiety, although more studies are needed to further evaluate the scientific basis for their use. - Osteoarthritis, rheumatism, oedema : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Dexamethasone-like.
Selon Salehi, B (2019) : In traditional medicine, Piper species have been used worldwide to treat several diseases such as urological problems, skin, liver & stomach ailments, for wound healing, and as antipyretic & anti-inflammatory agents. Among the functional properties of Piper plants/extracts/active components the antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, & neuro-pharmacological activities of the extracts & extract-derived bioactive constituents are thought to be key effects for the protection against chronic conditions, based on preclinical in vitro & in vivo studies, besides clinical studies. Selon Auteur (2014) : Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the anti- inflammatory & analgesic effects of PA ethanolic extract (EEPA) & its isolated compound N-[7-(3′,4′-Methylenedioxyphenyl)-2(Z),4(Z)-hepta-dienoyl]pyrrolidine in experimental models of inflammation (paw edema & pleurisy induced by carrageenan injection), hyperalgesy (electronic von Frey), vasorelaxation (in vitro) & mean arterial pressure (MAP – in vivo), in rodents.
Further indications (including other extraction modes where applicable), dosages, precautions for use and full scientific references are available in the complete monograph.
