- Osteoarthritis, arthritis, rheumatism, oedema : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Indometacine-like.
Selon Cardoso-Vilela FG (2009) : clearly demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects by reduced paw edema induced by carragenan, inhibited leukocyte recruitment into the peritoneal cavity & reduced LPS-induced febrile response, & in the model of chronic inflammation using the cotton pellet-induced fibrovascular tissue growth in rats, the SoHE significantly inhibited the formation of granulomatous tissue. cotton pellet implantation were used to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of SO hydroethanolic extract (SoHE) in rats. Selon Viela FC (2010) : Viela FC et al, Anti-inflammatory & Antipyretic Effects of Sonchus oleraceus in Rats. - Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Pénicilline-like, Tetracycline-like.
Selon Al-Hussaini R (2009) : Among the Gram- positive bacteria tested, for example, activities of Laurus nobilis bark extract ranged between a 9.5 mm inhibition zone against Bacillus subtilis up to a 25 mm one against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus aureus & Aspergillus fumigatus were the most susceptible among bacteria & fungi tested towards other plant parts. Selon Sanchez Matta (2021) : The results obtained are that the ethanolic extract of sow extract at 100% shows an inhibition halo on Staphylococcus aureus of 19.03 + 0.32 mm, at 75% it was 16.07 + 0.28 mm & at 50% 13.05 + 0.44 mm; concluding that the ethanolic extract of SO (sow extract) has an antibacterial effect against SA,. - Fungal infection : Plant part used: Aerial parts. Documented pharmacological profile: Nystatine-like.
Selon Al-Hussaini R (2009) : Staphylococcus aureus & Aspergillus fumigatus were the most susceptible among bacteria & fungi tested towards other plant parts. Antimicrobial & antiquorum sensing (AQS) activities of fourteen ethanolic extracts of different parts of eight plants were screened against four Gram-positive, five Gram-negative bacteria & four fungi.
