- Bacterial infection : Plant part used: Flower. Documented pharmacological profile: Gentamycine-like, Streptomycine-like.
Selon KOWTI R (2010) : The ethanol extract of leaf and flower of Spathodea campanulata was investigated for antimicrobial activity at 10 mg/ml concentrations by using Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method against gram positive and gram negative organisms like Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas sp, Salmonella Typhimurium, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholera. Flavonoids and tannins present in the both ethanol extract may be responsible for the antimicrobial activity. Selon Ofori-Kwakye (2009) : The methanol extract showed the best antibacterial activity. - Cancer : Plant part used: Sheet. Documented pharmacological profile: Cyclophosphamide-like.
Selon Dhanabalan R (2014) : Four plant species Solanum trilobatum, Spathodea campanulata, Syzygium jambos and Tylophora indica leaf extracts extracted with aqueous, methanol, ethanol & chloroform were screened for their anticancer activity in MCF7 cells. The SJELE & STCLE displayed antiproliferative effect of 74.8% & 71% with IC50 concentrations 132.53 µg/mL &203.23 µg/mL respectively. - Malaria : Plant part used: Pest control and veterinary products. Documented pharmacological profile: Pyrimethamine-like, Chloroquine-like.
Selon Makinde JM (s.d.) : Chloroquine and Pyrimethamine were used as reference drugs. : Effects of extracts of Spathodea campanulata on Plasmodium berghei b. Selon AMUSAN OOG (1996) : AMUSAN OOG et al, Antimalarial active principles of Spathodea campanulata stem bark.
