1. Cancer : Partie usitée : Fruit.
   Selon Sunila ES (2004) : Alcoholic extract of the fruits was 100% toxic at a concentration of 500 microg/ml to Dalton's lymphoma ascites (DLA) cells & 250 microg/ml to Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) cells. Administration of alcoholic extract of PL (10 mg/dose/animal) as well as piperine (1.14 mg/dose/animal) could inhibit the solid tumor development in mice induced with DLA cells and increase the life span of mice bearing Ehrlich ascites carcinoma tumor to 37.3 & 58.8%, respectively. Selon Kumar S (2013) : The antidiabetic & antihyperlipidemic potential of oil from Piper longum (PLO) and piperine was investigated with their possible mechanism using α-glucosidase, aldose reductase (AR), and pancreatic lipase inhibitory activity.
2. Troubles hépatiques : Partie usitée : Fruit. Profil pharmacologique documenté : Silymarine-like. Association synergique mentionnée : Melia Azedarach-feuille.
   Selon Samudram P (2008) : The determination of liver weight & biochemical parameters such as serum Bilirubin & blood urea showed a remarkable decrease in rats pre- treated with the BHEE when compared with those administered CCl4 alone. The substantially elevated serum marker enzymes such as Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT), Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT), Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP), Acid Phosphatase (ACP), Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Gamma glutamyl Transferase (γGT) & 5 Nucleotidase (5NT), due to CCl4 treatment were restored towards normalization in rats pretreated with BHEE. Selon Jiang ZY (2013) : in the screening search for Hepatitis B virus inhibitory agents from medicinal plants, the ethanol extract of Piper longum Linn.
3. Dépression : Partie usitée : Fruit. Profil pharmacologique documenté : Fluoxétine-like. Association synergique mentionnée : Allium sativum bulle, Plumbago zeylanica-racine, Withania somnifera-racine.
   Selon Hritcu L (2015) : Administration of the methanolic extract significantly exhibited anxiolytic- & antidepressant-like effects & also antioxidant potential. Methods: The anxiolytic- & antidepressant-like effects of the methanolic extract were studied by means of in vivo (elevated plus-maze & forced swimming tests) approaches. Selon Bopaiah CP (2000) : This showed that the active substances present in 50% ethanol extract of the ayurvedic preparation possess antidepressant activity and their specificity towards particular behavior, depends on the concentration of the extract.
